Beds are the part of a property people look at first and think about last. They start the season sharp — dark mulch, clean edges, plants sitting where they were planted — and then the rain comes, the weeds come, the mulch thins out and fades, and by mid-summer the bed line has wandered into the grass. Prestige Landscaping Group FL handles mulching and bed maintenance across Labelle, Lehigh Acres, Felda, Alva and Palmdale, and we do it as ongoing work rather than a once-a-year rescue.

Owner Juan Arizmendi runs the crews himself. If you want to talk through what your beds need, call (239) 237-9787 or email prestigelandscapegroupfl@gmail.com.

What Mulch Actually Does in Southwest Florida

Mulch is not just a color choice, though the color is the part everyone notices. In this heat, a proper layer keeps soil temperature down around the roots, slows how fast water evaporates out of the bed after you irrigate, and smothers a good share of the weed seed that would otherwise take hold. Thin mulch does none of that well. Mulch piled too deep against trunks and stems causes its own problems.

So we look at depth before anything else. Some beds need a full install. Plenty just need a top-dress — the old material is still doing its job underneath, it has simply broken down and faded on the surface. Topping those up costs less and keeps the bed healthier than stripping it back to dirt every spring.

  • Holds moisture in the soil through the hot, dry stretches
  • Cuts down on the weeds that sprout in bare ground
  • Keeps roots cooler and more protected
  • Stops mulch and soil washing out of the bed in heavy rain
  • Gives the whole property a finished, cared-for look

Our Bed Maintenance Work, Start to Finish

A bed visit is not just dumping mulch on top of whatever is already there. We clear it out first, then rebuild the edge, then mulch. Done in that order it holds for months. Done in the wrong order you are paying to bury weeds that come straight back through.

  1. Pull weeds and volunteer growth out of the bed, roots included where we can get them
  2. Rake out storm debris, fallen leaves and anything that has blown in
  3. Re-cut the bed line so the edge between bed and lawn is crisp and deliberate
  4. Trim back shrubs and groundcover that have crept over the edge or into each other
  5. Spread mulch at an even depth, kept back off trunks and stems
  6. Blow down the walks, drive and patio so nothing is left behind

Around new plantings we go easier and shallower, because young root systems do not want to be smothered. Around established shrubs we can be more generous. It is the kind of judgment that comes from doing this in the same soil and the same weather every week.

Areas We Cover and How Often We Come Back

We work in Labelle, Lehigh Acres, Felda, Alva and Palmdale. That takes in everything from tight residential lots to acreage properties with long bed runs along a drive, and we scale the visit to the property rather than selling one fixed package.

Most people want the beds folded into their regular landscape maintenance so they never have to think about it — weeding and tidying on each visit, then a mulch refresh once or twice a year depending on how fast the material breaks down and how much sun the bed takes. Others want a one-time reset before they list a house or host something. Both are fine. Tell us which you want and we will quote it straight.

We are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week — call when it suits you, not when it suits us.

Booking Your Beds with Prestige Landscaping Group FL

The fastest way to get a number is to call. We would rather look at the beds than guess at them, because square footage on a page and square footage on the ground are rarely the same thing once you account for curves, slopes and how much plant material is already in there.

Phone (239) 237-9787 any day of the week, or send photos and an address to prestigelandscapegroupfl@gmail.com and we will come back to you. Juan or one of the crew will walk the property with you, tell you honestly whether it needs a full mulch install or just a top-dress, and get it scheduled.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should mulch be replaced?

It depends on the bed. Most properties here do well with a refresh once or twice a year. Beds in full sun fade and break down faster than shaded ones. We check depth on every visit and tell you when it is actually due rather than selling you mulch you do not need.

Do you weed the beds as well as mulch them?

Yes. Weeding comes first — we clear the bed out before any mulch goes down, because covering live weeds just delays them by a few weeks.

Which areas do you serve?

Labelle, Lehigh Acres, Felda, Alva and Palmdale.

Can bed maintenance be added to my regular service?

It can. Most customers have us weed and tidy the beds on each regular visit and then schedule the mulch refresh separately. Call (239) 237-9787 and we will set it up.

What are your hours?

We are open Monday through Sunday, 24 hours. Call (239) 237-9787 whenever it works for you, or email prestigelandscapegroupfl@gmail.com.

Do you do one-time mulching jobs?

Yes. Plenty of people call us for a single reset before selling a home or hosting an event, with no ongoing commitment.
